What is Sudarshan?

Sudarshan is a herbaceous plant with oval scaled tubers. Its flowers are of different sizes, fragrant and white in colour. Its tuber is large, 12.5-15 cm diameter and spherical. It grows and blossoms between the months of May and June. Sudarshan is sweet, bitter, pungent, heavy to digest and hot in nature. Sudarshan is helpful in reducing vata and phlegm and its tuber is beneficial in reducing joint pain.
