What is Changeri?
The description of Changeri is found in Ayurveda-Samhitas and Nighantus. It has been mentioned in Charak-Samhita Shaak-Varga and Amlaskandha and it is used for the treatment of atyasar (diarrhea) and arsh (hemorrhoids) etc. Apart from this, it has also been described in the Shaak class of Sushruta-Samhita. Its leaves are of acidic nature (Amliya), hence it is called Amlapatrika in Sanskrit. Flowers and fruits are available on it throughout the year. It has two species- 1. Small Changeri, 2. Big Changeri. But mainly Chhoti Changeri is used in medicine. Chhoti Changeri Big Changeri It is a small, tender, stemless, 5-15 cm high, herbaceous plant. Its leaves are comparatively larger, the leaf blade is long and the stem is red in colour. Its flowers are white or pink. Its fruits are elliptic, pentagonal, straight, 8 mm long and seeds are 2-3 in each cell. Changeri is acidic and slightly bitter in taste and astringent, and its effect is hot. It is anti-phlegmatic, anti-inflammatory, bile-enhancing, analgesic, writing or scratching, helps to get rid of alcohol intoxication, increases appetite, helps in proper functioning of Deepan liver and is beneficial for heart. , haemorrhage, burning sensation and fever). It is a good source of Vitamin C. Changeri is pain-relieving, digestive, appetite-stimulating, liver-healing, diuretic (diuretic), fever-reducing, antibacterial, (deworming), anti-seizure (antiseptic), (emetic) and cool. Changeri is a heart-related problem, bleeding (bleeding), (dysmenorrhea, anartav) and liver diseases. Its panchangsar has the ability to heal ulcers.
