Let us know how Vidhara can be used medicinally:
What is Vidhara?
It is a medicinal plant of Lata species. In Ayurveda, it is used as Rasayana i.e. a substance that reinforces all the seven metals. Modern scientists consider Samudraosh as Vidhara and in the south, in the markets of Mumbai, Surat etc., only pieces of root or branches of Samudrash or Fang are often seen in the name of Bardhara or Vidhara. The only reason for this is that there is a lot of similarity between Samudrasosh and Vidhara, but the truth is that both the plants are completely different. Because of this similarity and confusion, its name is similar to Samudrasosh in Nepali and sea languages Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati etc. Some scholars consider Vidhara and Nishoth to be the same plant, but these plants are also completely different from each other. There are two differences of Vidhara by the name of Vriddhadarak and Jirnadaru. Being the destroyer of old age, it is called Vriddhadarak. Due to its longevity, it has been called Vridha. Due to the crooked shape of its creeper like goat's intestine, it is called Ajantri or Chhagalantrika. The creeper of Vidhara is very long. That's why it is also called Dirghavallari. Two species of Vidhara are used in medicine. It is a branch-branched vine that spreads widely on the ground and climbs large trees. Its flowers are of pink-purple colour, 7-15 cm long, with white hairs from outside and pink and purple from inside. Its fruits are 2 cm in diameter, spherical, green in raw state and brown-yellow in color when ripe. Another species of Vidhara is wild Vidhara. It has a long, bushy and climbing vine. Its leaves are elliptical-heart shaped. Its flowers are pink and fruits are red. In many places it is used in place of Vidhara.
